Notice of Temporary Closure
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Waitangi 3 Soda springs are now closed indefinitely until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our visitors and the local community.
The Waitangi 3 Soda springs are a natural geothermal feature located in the Bay of Plenty region of New Zealand. They are part of the Te Puia geothermal system, which includes geysers, hot pools, mud pools, and steam vents. The springs are a popular tourist attraction and a cultural site for the Ngāti Whakaue iwi (tribe).
The closure is necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of our staff and visitors, as well as to protect the environment and the cultural values of the site. We are working closely with the relevant authorities and stakeholders to assess the situation and determine the best course of action.
